PRS for Music Foundation is proud to announce the launch of the first ever UK-wide New Music Biennial, presenting 20 brand new music commissions to audiences in 2014. Commissions of up to 15 minutes long of any genre are being sought from cultural organisations across the UK and will be performed across the UK and at two special weekend events at London’s Southbank Centre (4-6 July 2014) and Glasgow UNESCO City of Music to coincide with the Commonwealth Games (2-3 August 2014) as Scotland prepares to celebrate the Commonwealth Games.

This first edition of New Music Biennial has been developed in partnership with Creative Scotland, Arts Council England and British Council, with support from Arts Council Northern Ireland, Arts Council Wales and the John S. Cohen Foundation. The programme will be delivered by PRSF in partnership with NMC Recordings, BBC Radio 3, Glasgow UNESCO City of Music and the Southbank Centre, London.

Organisations can apply for up to £20,000 to commission and perform new work across all genres. The deadline for applications is 6pm on 4th March 2013.
