Empowering The Artist Programme
Bluebell Arts Project have created an eight week project where two leading Artists in the City; George Doherty and Phillip McFadden will facilitate workshops which are aimed at artists who wish to enlarge their skill set or improve their oeuvre by employing new skills.
The techniques which will be explored are those to create sculpture, free standing work as well as any work which can incorporate sculptural idioms, relief wall mounted works, carnival construction, model making, assemblage and construction.
In addition to this the artists will demonstrate and facilitate learning of techniques in;
- Clay – preparation and modelling
- Taking Moulds from a live model
- Casting techniques from life size mould
- Plaster casts from small sculptures
- Carving – Plaster, Wood
- Construction and assemblage
These workshops will take place in The Arts Factory at The Gasyard Centre, Derry. Starting on Wednesday 27th January @ 2-4pm and are completely free!
