As part of Theatre NI’s continued drive to support and develop theatre and the performing arts across Northern Ireland, Theatre NI will be running a 1 day session for Arts and Community Facilitators and Youth Leaders focusing on how to deliver inclusive workshops for young people that capture and reflect their stories, experiences, views and opinions. This will be delivered in partnership with Prime Cut Productions and the Duncairn Centre for Culture and Arts. The training is funded by Belfast City Council, as part of TheatreNI’s ‘Skill Up’ programme.
During the 1 day session, we will look at ways of teasing out the issues important to the group you are working with and ways of enabling everyone to involve themselves, share their voices and express their creativity.
This session is particularly suited to those who are keen on issue based facilitation, regardless of art form. The tools and techniques taught will show ways of developing workshop frameworks ensuring that your group drives the sessions forward with things that are important to them as individuals and as a collective.
The workshop will be delivered by Matt Faris, Outreach Manager for Belfast based Theatre Company, Prime Cut Productions. Matt has over 10 years experience as an Arts Facilitator, delivering Community Engagements across Ireland, the UK and Europe. His work spans different art forms, from drama, movement and music to visual art, with the focus of enabling people to tell their stories.
Date and time: Friday 3rd March from 10am to 4pm.
Venue: Duncairn Centre for Culture and the Arts.
