Conor Shields, Community Arts Partnership’s Chief Executive said,

“Over the last 17 years, many hundreds of community groups, and tens of thousands of people, have participated in our creative programmes. We offer the fullest possible range of creative choices and artistic support to groups and individuals.

Whether your group is just starting out, or you’re looking for a greater creative challenge, CAP projects can support you and your group to really get creative.

We try to remove as many barriers as possible to getting creative and offer a fully-inclusive, fully-funded programme at no charge to applicants. We want to help groups that don’t normally get the opportunity, in communities in Belfast and right across Northern Ireland. If your community struggles with disadvantage, or has difficulty accessing opportunity for whatever reason, this is your chance. We don’t ask tough questions, we just want to know about the circumstances of your community or the group you’re part of, and let us help you get creative.

Places are very limited, so make sure that you apply promptly and give us the information that we need.

We consistently score top marks for our programme, with fantastic feedback from Arts Council of Northern Ireland assessors and indeed, from those who have taken part.

This is your publicly-funded chance to get creative, it’s your right to participate in the cultural life of your community. Apply today!”

Julianne Skillen, CAP’s new Development Manager said,

We would like to encourage groups to apply to this year’s Community Arts Partnership’s project programme. It’s a fantastic opportunity! Whatever your group’s focus: women, young people, older people, inter-generational, black and minority ethnic, intercultural, LGBT, mother and toddler, disability support or a new arts or drama collectives, CAP arts projects are here for you.

If your group is newly established or you’re from a community centre with years of experience; if you want to try out something new or to develop your group’s experience of accessing, authoring and owning their art practice, CAP is offering an exciting opportunity to get together, to express yourselves and above all create and have fun.

Our organisation has a range of projects, from literature and verbal arts in schools and communities, visual arts, sculpture, to carnival arts, animation and film, all delivered with CAP’s commitment to helping those who are most disadvantaged get access to artistic activities. Our projects are delivered with the highest standards of teaching combined with workshop programmes which are best practice in our field.

I’m available to give organisations any advice needed in completing application forms and I look forward to hearing from you all and working with you soon.”

For more information please contact Julianne, or by phone on 028 9092 3493

Thanks to our funders, principally the Arts Council of Northern Ireland, CAP is able to offer access to a considerable programme of projects but places are limited, so CAP suggests that groups apply promptly and correctly. Bear in mind that all programmes and projects are subject to funding availability and may be withdrawn.

Closing date for applications: Tuesday 30th May
