Call-out for Belfast based youth groups – closing 18 Aug

Participants from Suffolk CC during Hit the North 16-17

Hit the North is our spray art festival which runs in September every year. Thanks to the support from the Community Relations Council and Belfast City Council, we also run a community engagement programme where youth groups have the chance to learn street art techniques and get to express themselves, with the guidance of professional local artists.

We are delighted to announce that thanks to great funding news, we are now able to work with 3 more groups, apart from the 4 that have been already selected.

What do you need to apply?

  • A Belfast based youth group willing to commit to a 15 hours street art project.
  • Access to an external wall (if not, you will need to ask for permission).
  • Be available during september preferably.

Want to see what the youth groups did last year?

Suffolk Community Centre worked with Marian Noone (aka Friz) on a ‘road safety and dodgeball’ themed mural.

Residents of Sailortown and Clanmil Housing’s Harbour View Apartments renovated the Sailortown sign.

Denmark Street Community Centre no drugs campaign.

If your group wants to get involved or need more information please email Julianne Skillen at julianne@capartscentre.com

Closing date for applications: Friday 18th August.

Thank you to the Community Relations Council and Belfast City Council’s Community Festivals Fund for supporting the community engagement element of Hit the North.
