Hit The North – Artists talks – 21 Sept

Seedhead Arts and Community Arts Partnership presents Hit the North Street Art Festival 2018!

Part of the Hit the North Festival will be hearing from the artists themselves at Artists Talks, being held in the Black Box, Green Room, 1-3pm on Friday 21st September.

Speakers at the events will be Danni Simpson, Tim McCarthy aka VERZ, Rob Hilken (VAI) and Cormac Simpson aka MAC.

The line-up will be:

1.00pm – Rob Hilken
1.30pm – Tim McCarthy
2.00pm – Danni Simpson

Despite being fresh to the art scene, this Australian artist has quickly become well known for her commercial and urban street art across the globe. Her unique approach to mandala flora and fauna illustrations, mixed with elements of typography create iconic pieces for the world to enjoy.

When you look at the plethora of spray art around the Cathedral Quarter have you ever wondered what artists were thinking when creating certain pieces, well wonder no more. Come along and hear from local and international street artists as they put down the aerosols and share their work, their vision, inspiration and process.

Hit the North Live Street art from Thursday 20 September and the following Culture Night, local and international spray artists bring walls to life with paint and some other unusual materials. Both days 4-8pm.

Sites: Castle Street, Kent and Library Street and throughout the cathedral quarter.
