About St.ART

The St.ART (Street Art) project is an intergenerational, cross-community project that will engage up to 200 performers/artists from the Borough to breathe life back into 20 under-loved urban spaces through arts, music, dance and drama.

The St.ART (Street Art) project is an intergenerational, cross-community project that will engage up to 200 performers/artists from the Borough to breathe life back into 20 under-loved urban spaces through arts, music, dance and drama.

Performers will work together with talented people from other local communities and from all walks of life. After a series of training workshops, participants will perform with members of a different community on 10 separate occasions across Carrickfergus, Larne and Ballymena.

This project will continue to run across the Borough into early 2020.  The project will work with communities in Ballymena, Carrickfergus and Larne to showcase the things about your community that you love and share the best of your place with everyone. The shape and content of events is up to your local community and could include open air and drive in cinemas, lumiere, street art and theatre, dance and musical performances, among other things.

The main aim of St.ART is to bring talented people from different communities together.  By working and playing together, people from the three towns centres will have the chance to transform spaces and, more importantly, give people opportunities to learn and grow together towards a more peaceful and connected community.
