1 FT SQ | Group Exhibtion – 9 Mar

This is the 11th year of Hambly & Hambly’s small works art expo 1FT SQ – an event that has grown annually and attracts creative practitioners of all genres and creative backgrounds from all over the Country. The Arts Service this year received an excellent response through its open call to the arts community in October 2018 and are proud to be the host of what is a very diverse selection of new, established, amateur, emerging & professional art from all over Ireland.

In times that opportunities for artists to showcase and sell work are few and far between exhibitions such as this one are of great importance not only as a catalyst through which work can be sold but also it creates a platform through which the arts community can participate and show together in a high profile cultural venue. Exhibitors who are showing in this year’s touring exhibition are from all over Ireland and have put on this wonderful display of 114 art works. Exhibiting artists include:

This year two external adjudicators were invited by the Arts Service to select three artists to award some unique prizes for this year’s 1 FT SQ: Thank you to Ciara Hambly of Hambly & Hambly, Enniskillen & Paul McKenna of the McKenna Gallery in Omagh for adjudicating this year’s exhibition.

First prize for a solo exhibition 2019 & £300 exhibition fee was awarded to Samantha Ellis Fox (Tyrone), Second prize for a 2 week Artists Residency at The Tyrone Guthrie Centre at Annaghmakerrig was awarded to Talie Mau (Fermanagh) & Third prize of £150 towards Artists materials was awarded to Billy Moore (Boyle).

Select work from Hambly & Hambly’s art collection will also be on show – featuring a significant body of work by some of Irelands leading visual artists
