The MAC Belfast – Bookkeeper/Finance Executive

Salary:  £20,661 per annum
Hours: 37.5 hours per week (with flexibility for the right candidate)

The MAC Belfast is recruiting a Bookkeeper/Finance Executive who will be responsible for assisting the implementation of all appropriate procedures to ensure the continued effective operation of the finance function, accurately input and reconcile data in the computerised accounting package, and responding to financial queries.

Assisting with a range of duties including preparing accounts to trial balance, purchase ledger, sales ledger, bank reconciliations, invoices, tax & VAT returns, and payroll. A relevant recognised accounting qualification is required as well as experience in using accounting software and spreadsheets.

The ideal candidate for this role should have at least 3 years of experience as a bookkeeper with excellent finance experience and will have a keen eye for detail along with the ability to work well to deadlines and communicate effectively with colleagues and customers alike. You should have excellent interpersonal and relationship-building skills; be able to multi-task and prioritise workload; have clear and concise communication skills; work well within a team environment and have proficient IT skills.

Essential Criteria

  • 5 GCSEs or equivalent including English and Maths (grade C or above)
  • At least 3 years’ experience as a bookkeeper or accounting technician within a busy organisation
  • Experience of computerised accounting package and spreadsheets

Desirable Criteria

  • Recognised accounting qualification
  • Financial experience gained within the retail/hospitality sector
