Project Officer – closing 25 Feb

At the National Trust, the mission is to look after historic and beautiful places for ever, for everyone.

In Northern Ireland, we are ambitious about being a leading light in the delivery of outstanding curation and experiences that enrich the connection for existing audiences and increase relevance for new audiences. We will do this through presenting our places and telling our stories in new innovative and creative ways. This new role will be part of the Regional Consultancy Team reporting to the Regional Visitor Experience Consultant. Working in collaboration with our teams and partners, you will support the delivering of projects and programmes that enhance visitor experience, deepen the connection to our stories and places, and increase relevance for local communities. You will inspire new thinking and a creative approach to how we present our places, spaces and stories.

What it’s like to work here

The National Trust Consultancy is the home to specialists in every field of our work. A national consultancy, where resources are shared across disciplines and boundaries, it’s proving to be a great repository of skills, talent and experience. The diversity and quality of expertise within the Consultancy will enable our properties and places to benefit from an extraordinary range of creative and innovative thinking, as well as deep expertise in all matters relating to our twin purpose of caring for the nation’s heritage and landscapes and making these accessible to all.

What you’ll be doing

This role will play a key part in shaping and delivering new innovative experiences and curation at National Trust places across Northern Ireland. We are ambitious about delivering outstanding visitor experiences that connect people with our places in creative and innovative ways.
We have already started to make good progress than in this area; Artificial Sunshine neon light installation at The Argory, Mount Stewart Conversations Festival, Pages of the Sea, seasonal programming at Rowallane Garden and Castle Ward but there are so many more opportunities to unlock and explore. We are therefore seeking a creative individual to support the delivery of projects that underpin this inventive approach.

Who we’re looking for

In this role, you will help inspire, support and deliver projects in collaboration with our teams that enhance experiences, and deliver relevancy for new and existing audiences. You will help deliver existing projects as well as identify and support the delivery of new projects. You will need to be organised and methodical in your approach, with excellent communication skills and the ability to influence across all levels of the organisation. This role will support properties to identify and work with relevant partners across the cultural, heritage and arts sector to deliver innovative and creative experiences at our places.
