Twenty years ago Raymond Watson completed a series of artworks on the themes of Seamus Heaney’s poetry. In response, the poet sent Raymond the WB Yeats quote, ‘Those Images That Yet, Fresh Images Beget’, which Heaney believed was an apt way to describe the artist’s work.
Twenty years later, Raymond has used the quote as the inspiration for his latest exhibition which features new work based on Heaney’s poetry.
An imaginative amalgamation of painting and poetry, Raymond has discovered a creative way to interpret Heaney’s works in a series of fresh images.
The exhibition runs at the ArtisAnn Gallery from Thursday 6th June to Saturday 29th June with a preview on Wednesday 5th June from 6 to 8pm
Admission is free.
