Jacques Offenbach – 8 Aug

Join the NI Opera Studio in celebrating the bicentenary of Jacques Offenbach, the father of operetta. Expect two lighthearted and subversive musical farces with frivolity, cross-dressing, and ear worms aplenty. In typical NI Opera Studio fashion, both pieces will be performed in an informal setting, sung in French, with English dialogues and translations.

An island Just like this

Him or her, he or she: how can you tell, and does it matter when you are in love? To find out, travel with us to Tulipatan, an island where nothing quite is as it seems.

Daphnis and Chloe

Or how to make a move

What to do when you fancy each other but don’t quite know how to handle the more intimate details? Rest assured, help from above is at hand with Pan; a divinity with robust worldly expertise and the street credit to match it. Sharpen up your love techniques in this naughty musical farce.
