Radical Arcadia – Opportunity to Exhibit in Lisbon – closing 1 Sept

Catalyst Arts is looking for submissions for an exciting exhibition opportunity in Lisbon.

Radical Arcadia is a Catalyst’s off-site programme in Zaratan Arte Contemporanea from 3rd October to 13th October 2019, during the opening of Lisbon Architecture Triennale. In response to one of the themes of the Triennale – Taking the Country’s Side: Permaculture for Architects, Radical Arcadia is a cross art form exhibition that investigates the idea of Arcadia as the poetic shaped space of harmonious living between human and nature.

Catalyst Arts are seeking works on paper that contemplate what Arcadia means today and what types of space hold this imagery. As a point of reference, we encourage ideas that respond, reflect, or contrast to the artist Paul Henry who painted the pastoral values of rural Ireland. Only works on paper in A5 size will be considered. It can be a sketch, a painting, a photography, a collage, a print or a piece of text.

Whatever your background or practice is – visual arts, architecture, horticulture, permaculture, ethnography, anthropology, literature, Earth science, archaeology and etc., we would like to hear from you.

Works will be selected by Catalyst Arts committee and successful applicants will be notified by early September.
