Elixir – Hip Hop Showcase – 18 Oct

Micall Parknsun is a complex man. This loving husband and proud father of three is a self-confessed Hip Hop junkie, recalling the Golden Era of US East Coast Hip Hop as the catalyst for his musical endeavors.

Micall (pronounced Michael) aka Parky rose to infamy with the release of his critically acclaimed debut album ‘The Working Class Dad’ in 2005 which featured anthems like ‘So What’ and the Beat Butcha produced ‘I Don’t Wanna Stay Here’. His growing reputation was further solidified in 2006 with the release of ‘The Interview Mixtape’ and the anthem ‘Dunya (My World)’ the lead single from Jehst’s production album ‘Underworld Epics Vol. 1.’

Since then Parky has firmly established himself as one of the most exciting and dynamic MC’s to emerge from the UK with his captivating stage presence, unmistakable rugged voice and effortless flow.

Parky is currently working with a few different people from our local scene, so perhaps expect a showcase of some of that material as a prelude to the main set.

♫ ♪ Skeet & Durty Devz

We welcome back Skeet & Devz to the Elixir stage, this time as a duo. Good friends and frequent collaborators, this pair bounce off each other excellently every time they get together live and join us off the back of a couple of great performances together in Lurgan for Let Our Revolution Decide and for Sinful Music.

♫ ♪ Shambles Bhoy & Devious Music

Another pairing putting in a lot of work in the live circuit and beyond currently, Shambles & Devious have been making noise with their Shambles Records business, Sinful Music affiliation and a string of gigs throughout the country. With a lot of music on the way both solo and jointly its a great time to catch the hungry pair who are always keen to prove themselves and rock the crowd

♫ ♪ Apollo-DFG

After bursting onto the scene properly with a quick spot at Breaking Down Border’s in Belfast and the release of tunes C.R.E.A.M, Speak The Pain and First Blood, Apollo DFG (Destined For Greatness) jumped right to the front of the queue to give an opening slot to. An exciting prospect and fresh face to the local scene, we’re looking forward to following his progress

The night will be hosted by Waking Android’s Kronus who will have some material from his forthcoming solo album Observations to perform.

DJs for the night are 2018 UK DMC champion Koncept & Antidote Soundsystem’s 2Hatz

As always, we will kick things off with our open mic session & will have our Moondoggys stall on the go for the best in local urban fashion.
