Blood, Sweat and Felt | The F.O.C.U.S. Club – 7 Nov to 6 Jan

Is grúpa beag pobail é Cumann F.O.C.U.S do dhaoine fásta a bhfuil sainriachtanais oideachais acu. Tá an cumann lonnaithe i Léana an Dúin agus ó bunaíodh é, tá teagmháil déanta ag baill an chumainn le líonra de theagascóirí agus d’eagraíochtaí éagsúla. Mar sin de, is féidir leo imeachtaí agus deiseanna éagsúla ina bpobal féin agus níos faide amach a aimsiú. Cuireann an cumann chun tosaigh cearta na mball, lena n-áirítear Rogha, Féin-Abhcóideacht agus Saoránacht. Is é aidhm Chumann F.O.C.U.S. tacú le daoine fásta a bhfuil sainriachtanais oideachais acu agus an t-eolas agus na deiseanna a thabhairt dóibh a chuirfidh ar a gcumas a gcuid cúram lae féin a eagrú agus a reáchtáil. Taitníonn an cheardaíocht go mór leis na baill, agus tugadh dúshlán nua dóibh a bhfeiltbhrat féin a dhearadh. Bhí ceardlanna ag an ghrúpa leis an ealaíontóir áitiúil Marie Louise Gormley, agus lean an grúpa leo ag déanamh feiltbhrat ina dhiaidh sin. Is é teideal an taispeántais ná ‘Blood, Sweat and Felt’. Doirteadh go leor fola agus go leor deor leis an taispeántas seo a chur i gceann a chéile. Bainigí sult as.

Tá fearadh na fáilte romhat chuig seoladh an taispeántais seo Déardaoin 07/11/2019 ag 7:00pm sna Ballaí Bána. Beidh sólaistí ar fáil.

The F.O.C.U.S. Club is a small community group for adults with learning disabilities, based in Lenadoon. Since its inception, Club members have been networking with various tutors and organisations. This has enabled them to access a great variety of activities and opportunities in their local community and further afield. The Club promotes the rights of Choice, Self-Advocacy and Citizenship for all its members. The Focus Club aims to support adults with a learning disability and to give them the knowledge and opportunities to enable them to organise and run their own day care. Members love crafting – and Felting was something new to try. The group had workshops with local artist Marie Louise Gormley and the members carried on Felting. The exhibition is called ‘Blood, Sweat and Felt’. There was some blood, some tears, and lots of hard work and sweat, to produce the pictures for the display.

You are very welcome to come to the launch of this exhibition at 7:00pm on 07/11/2019 in the Ballaí Bána. Refreshments will be provided.
