Every year Belfast Philharmonic Choir performs a season of fantastic concerts – some alone and some alongside the famous Ulster Orchestra in the Belfast Waterfront and Ulster Halls. Every year we recruit new singers to supplement our ranks as Northern Ireland’s only symphonic choir. If you join us this January, you could be singing Bach’s Mass in B Minor in the Ulster Hall on Good Friday, and our season closing concert in May – Mahler’s huge Symphony No. 2, Resurrection. You could even perform with the choir in July 2020 when we sing in Ely Cathedral!
If you are looking for a new singing challenge, want to get back into singing after some time away, or just want to know what it’s like to sing alongside a large choir, come along to our open rehearsals on Wednesday 8th and 15th January 2020. You’ll have the opportunity to sing with the Belfast Philharmonic Choir, working through a piece from the second half of the 2019/20 season, conducted by our Chorus Master, Stephen Doughty.
Afterwards you can ask questions about the audition process and sign up for a time to be auditioned later in the month. Even if you aren’t sure about auditioning yet, it’s a great opportunity to sing with a large choir and find out more about the Philharmonic. We look forward to meeting you!
Registration will be open from 7pm and the rehearsal will start at 7.30pm.
Please bring a pencil and a bottle of water – scores will be provided.
