IMBOLC Festival – Festival Club – 7 Feb

Our late night Festival Club ensures that there is even more music to enjoy into the wee small hours! The club nights will feature performances from key festival artists. Included in the line-up on Friday will be Bene & Cormac, Boxing Banjo and other special guests.

Bene & Cormac (Benedict Morris (21) from Glasgow and Cormac Crummey (22) from Belfast) are considered to be two of the most exciting young musicians on the traditional music scene. They have compiled a vast store of tunes, mostly new compositions penned by themselves and some of Scotland and Ireland’s most notable musicians. Their poise and musicianship has flourished over their time together; producing an energetic and vibrant collection of new music that has evolved in the working class cities of Glasgow and Belfast with shipyards, linen mills and bonded whiskey warehouses as their backdrop.

“It’s not every day you listen to a duo and know that they’re going to be the next best thing. Bene & Cormac. Incredible.” – Mohsen Amini 2018 Musician of the Year – BBC Radio 2 Folk Awards

Hailing from the picturesque west coast of Ireland, Boxing Banjo bring an exciting and fresh sound to the Irish music scene. Comprising four of the most accomplished Irish musicians, brothers Dara and Mick Healy along with Joseph McNulty and Seán O’Meara have amassed in excess of 20 All Ireland titles on various instruments and in singing along with 4 world bodhrán titles.
