Youth Collective meeting: Cut, Paste, Resist – 14 Feb

“If all 00s music and culture is documented only in digital form, then it will be left to languish on hard drives until they eventually cease to work, and the decade will be erased.” Nick Jones, Niche-Homo

We warmly invite you to a relaxed afternoon of exploration into the humble yet hallowed ‘zine’. Come cut, paste, draw, write and try out ‘zine’ making for yourself. Join us in the gallery, surrounded by the ‘The Dark’, our current exhibition including planets, blobs and moon geese as we explore and celebrate ‘the light’ as we look to our shared hopes and dreams as young creatives in the NW. Experiment with techniques of collage and share ideas as we continue the discussion on the questions and issues raised in our initial meeting.

If you missed the first meeting don’t worry, we’d love to have you! If you have any images, magazines, fabrics, photographs or writing that speaks to you in some way bring them along! If you don’t, never worry, we will have plenty of supplies for you to play with!

Venue: Centre for Contemporary Art, 10–12 Artillery Street, Derry
