I am Inspired – Belfast Billboard exhibition – during March

I Am Inspired artworks

“Art to Inspire us All”

Watch out as artists with learning disabilities takeover Belfast Billboards during March 2020.

Walk through the doors of Arts for All in Cityside shopping centre in north Belfast and you will not only find locally handcrafted art pieces to buy, but you’ll find groups of people beavering away, learning new creative skills whilst making friends and having a bit of craic.

The atmosphere is calming (not like your normal shopping experience) and the staff and volunteers are friendly and ready help you with any artistic questions over a cuppa of course.  It’s the perfect space to create.  There’s even room to exhibit your own artwork or perform your own songs!

Yes, Arts for All, a local community arts charity, do arty stuff with people from all ages irrespective of your previous artistic knowledge or background.  They just want to help you get creative!

Over the last year, the ‘I am Inspired’ group have been preparing for their own upcoming exhibition.  This billboard collection is aimed at raising awareness of the power of art to uplift and hopefully to inspire and bring a smile to the general public and commuters across the City.

From Tuesday 10th March 2020 you will no doubt see a wide range of fabulous artwork on billboards, digital screens, light boxes, bus shelters and advertising stands in Shopping Centres. This work was created by talented artists, all assessed with learning disabilities and kindly funded and supported by the Belfast Health & Social Care Trust.  Arts for All would not only thank BHSCT but also would like to thank the artists tutors working with the ‘I am Inspired’ group over the past year.

Helen one of the artists said;
“I can’t believe it; my art is up there for all to see! My Mum is gonna be so proud”

Jill McDermott from Arts for All;
This group have come such a long way and they should feel very proud of all their achievements this year.  What better way to celebrate their talents than blowing up their art to billboard size! They are truly inspiring to us all.”
