Diverse Youth – Media Training

Diverse Youth NI members took part in a media production training provided by Youth-Link NI which was funded by the Education Authority. The venue was your space and it was intended for 8 week, this was however interrupted by the Pandemic.

Young people learnt how to use a camera to produce a talk show which focused on

  • Bullying in schools
  • Living in Northern Ireland as a young person
  • Measuring skills:

Measuring skills was the first video we produced which had a young Belfast based musician (Adetunji) as a guest in the talk show. Youthlink facilitators were: Joanne Stainby and Israel Eguaogie. Both are no longer employees of YouthLink NI. Trainer was:Larry Cowan (Lamb films)

About Diverse Youth NI: Diverse Youth NI was founded by Israel Eguaogie in 2019. It provides a platform for children from the newcomer community which includes asylum seekers and refugee communities as well as children from the BAME community to meet, engage, learn and share experiences or development and growth. It is Youth led and we involve parents and guardians in every activity.

Diverse Youth has been supported by Youthlink-NI who provided Youth work L2 training to volunteers from diverse BAME backgrounds.
