There are still a limited number of P4 places to join Belfast Philharmonic’s Phil Kids choir and music programme in September, as well as audition spots for Youth and Chamber Choir (ages 11-20).
All the Belfast Philharmonic Choir programmes will start the season online in September, working towards a huge virtual Christmas concert with the adult, youth and children’s choirs performing together. We’ll be learning Britten’s Saint Nicolas, and finding out how to record individual tracks to produce a fantastic concert to share online while singing together in a big choir is still impossible.
If you have a child entering P4 in September who loves to sing, there are still a limited number of places to join Phil Kids. Working online, young singers will learn festive music for the choir and have musicianship classes to find out more about their voices and about music. They will start a music programme which could eventually take them through to our amazing Youth and Chamber choirs, and on the way they’ll make friends and express themselves creatively.
There are also a few audition spots left for Youth and Chamber Choir, for singers aged 11-20. If you have some experience singing in a choir and would enjoy learning more about musicianship and your own voice, as well as taking part in unique choral experiences, we would love you to audition. This spring our Youth Choir worked to create a new piece of music which has been viewed online over 5000 times, and our Chamber Choir learned conducting and vocal technique as well as taking part in the Cross Border Youth Choir speaker series and meeting Eric Whitacre! We have big plans for the autumn term online and would welcome more young singers to join us.
