Queens Film Theatre have partnered up with London Film Festival to show a selection of their programme at QFT including a special screening of their opening film Mangrove. Mangrove is part of Steve McQueen’s (12 Years A Slave, Hunger, Widows) new BBC anthology series, Small Axe, focusing on stories of Black people in Britain.
Through a joint initiative set up by Steve McQueen, BBC and BFI, we are prioritising giving our free tickets to people of colour. This basically means that ¾ of our tickets will be allocated through partnerships with other organisations, while the last ¼ will be a lottery shared publicly through our social media and email newsletter.
QFT have social distancing within our screens which will block seats around each group of attendees in accordance with public health guidelines.
There is a Google form for anyone interested in getting free tickets for the screening below.
Free Tickets to screening for BAME groups
These will be awarded on a first come first served basis. We won’t know exactly the number of tickets we can give until we see the breakdown in terms of groups of 1,2,3,4 but a good guess is about 36 will be allocated through this method with the last 12 for the lottery.
