Behind the Scenes and the Actor – Online Workshops – to 1 Apr

Millennium Forum’s InterAct youth arts online festival has announced that the participants and young people across the city and beyond have now been offered the opportunity to take part in online Q&A sessions with some top Arts professionals about their craft.

The sessions, known as the “Behind the Scenes and the Actor” series, are an opportunity for young people to gain insights into how the professionals trained in the Arts and developed their respective careers. The Forum’s Youth Patron, Jamie Lee O’Donnell, will close the festival with her very own session giving an insight into auditioning for TV and stage as well as informally chatting about her life as an actress from Derry.

Mags Anderson, InterAct Co-ordinator and Education Officer at the Millennium Forum, said:

“Each production is not only about what is on stage and performing; there are months of preparation, planning, writing, designing, auditioning, building, lighting, and so forth, which go into every single production. We want to take this opportunity to offer an insight into ‘Behind The Scenes and the Actor’ with a series of four online sessions which are completely free to participants.”

The ‘Behind The Scenes and the Actor’ series consists of five theatre professionals who will host individual online Q&A sessions with participants offering an insight into their profession and offering tips and guidance into working in the Arts. These four informative sessions will be carried out via Zoom from Monday 29th March – Thursday 1st April 2021.

The sessions cover the following topics:

  • Directing & Stage Management
  • Musical Directing
  • Set & Costume Design
  • Auditions for TV & Stage.

They can be booked via the Millennium Forum’s website from 1pm on Friday 26.03.2021 here:
