This special ‘tour’ for Imagine Belfast will uncover and reimagine not just the physical spaces but the ideas, stories, memories and people that have shaped the Strand Arts Centre (formerly the Strand Cinema) over the years.
The tour will draw upon voices recorded as part of the ‘Strand Stories’ project to date, supported by The National Lottery Heritage Fund, and uncover the social and cultural significance of the Strand since its origin as a local ‘picture house’ in 1930s Belfast.
