Harry Bradley – Traditional Music Postcards from Belfast

This week, Belfast TradFest‘s Traditional Musical Postcard series shines a spotlight on Harry Bradley.

Harry Bradley is from the Lower Ormeau Road in Belfast. He has travelled extensively in Ireland and overseas both as a flute teacher and as a performer with groups such as Cran, Altan and The Taproom Trio. His distinctive rhythmic playing style is influenced by early recordings of Irish music, and by the great flute players of counties Galway, Sligo and Leitrim. In 2014 he received the Gradam Ceoil TG4 Musician of the Year award for his contribution to traditional music.

This project is supported by the Arts Council’s Organisations Emergency Programme.
