The new series of Northern Songs brings together the beautiful landmarks and locations of Northern Ireland with traditional airs, nostalgic ballads and rousing contemporary anthems composed by Northern Irish or Irish composers performed by opera singers that hail from the island. This season features the beautiful and historic landmarks of Fermanagh, Armagh and Tyrone.
This week’s film, the sixth in this new series, features tenor Andrew Irwin, accompanied by pianist Ruth McGinley, performing Herbert Hughes ‘The Bard of Armagh’, filmed at the Robinson Library and the Georgian Mall in Armagh by Belfast based film production company Causeway Pictures.
