Strand Arts Centre turns your living room into a live lounge
Turn your living room into a live lounge over the next four Thursdays with some great music and comedy performances thanks to funding from Arts Council of Northern Ireland, starting with DJ, music producer and composer Phil Kieran on Thursday 24th June, followed by Ursula Burns, Neil Foster and finishing with Dan’s Leith’s Otter Debauchery!
Phil Kieran is a DJ, music producer and composer who has toured internationally and released records for the past twenty years. He collaborated with David Holmes on the soundtrack to Steven Soderbergh’s film THE GIRLFRIEND EXPERIENCE and contributed to the BAFTA-winning soundtrack for KILLING EVE, which was also nominated for an Emmy. He is currently in the process of creating the music and score for a film adaptation of EAST BELFAST BOY, a theatre production by award-winning company, Prime Cut Productions.
Songwriter, multi-instrumentalist and comedienne Ursula Burns (streaming 1st July) has been smashing the stereotypical image of the harp for 25 years by performing and touring the world through the mediums of Music, Theatre, Circus and Comedy.
Burns has invented her own wild style of playing and strong captivating live performance in her solo shows – a diverse and compelling artist who is not afraid to take risks and push the harp to places it has never dared to venture.
Neil Foster (streaming 8th July) is a composer, producer and performer based in Northern Ireland. His first album ‘Hiraeth’ was released in 2018.
Dan Leith (streaming 15th July) is one third of local comedy group Those Who Can’t. Individually, he is also known as Otter Debauchery and will perform live (to an almost void) his own witty sardonic songs from his upcoming album ‘Hate Songs from Before the Apocalypse’.
