Take inspiration from the philosophy by Nassim Nicholas Taleb to become an antifragile observer and poet.
Antifragility is beyond resilience or robustness. The resilient resists shocks and stays the same; the antifragile gets better.
― Nassim Nicholas Taleb (2012). Antifragile: Things That Gain from Disorder. Random House.
In this online workshop, we will use insights from Taleb’s philosophy alongside a curation of contemporary theory to explore how we might become antifragile through poetry. We’ll read a selection of poems for their resemblance to antifragility. Through this exploration, we will form our own notions of how and when antifragility might serve our writing. We’ll look at implementing antifragility in our craft at all stages; as observers, as poets, and as editors.
Venue: Online through Zoom
Dates: Starts September 23 and continues weekly for 6 weeks
