Five for Five is a series of new digital moving image works commissioned by the Digital Arts Studios.
“As part of our plan to emerge from the shutdown of the pandemic and to evolve with the ‘new order’, we wanted to commission work by local artists to be exhibited online. Five artists: Leo Boyd, Nathan Crothers, Dorothy Hunter, Fiona Ní Mhaoilir and Silvia Mandic were asked to produce a five-minute work each in response to their experiences of living and working during a global pandemic. Five for Five takes the form of an online showcase here, as was the original intention for these works.”
However, they will also be presented in physical format in an exhibition at the Flax Art Studios Project Space, Belfast. The exhibition will open on Thursday the 14th of October and will run until the 30th of October 2021. The online exhibition will be available during 2021. This project is funded by the Arts Council of Northern Ireland’s Stability & Renewal Programme for Organisations in response to the Covid-19 pandemic.
Date: 14 to 30 October 2021
Time: 6 – 8pm
Location: Flax Arts Studios Project Space, 5-9 North Street, Belfast, BT1 INA.
