Learning Support Worker – closing 7 Jan 2022

Salary: £19312 pro rata (£10.01ph)
Reports to: Team Leader
Working pattern: Monday to Friday 9.30am-3pm (Set holidays)


Job purpose

  • The Learning Support Worker (LSW) role exists in order to remove barriers to learning that may be caused by learning and/or physical disability, sensory impairments or mental health problems and to enable people who have a disability to be able to access learning, social opportunities and events in the wider community.
  • Under the direction of the Team leader and class Tutor, the LSW will work with an individual or designated group of students in order to ensure that learners are able to participate in activities that are directed by the class Tutor. The LSW will deliver individual programmes of support that are designed by the Tuned In Staff Team.

Core duties

  • To support participants on their learning programme under the supervision of the appropriate Tutor.
  • The support may include: guidance for personal care, support for learning, social interaction, assistance with practical tasks, reassurance and guidance.
  • Key working- LSW’s will be assigned programme participants to explore a future plan by setting goals using a person centred approach.
  • 1:1 supervision of identified students.
