Cathedral Quarter Arts Festival – Out to Lunch festival Announcement – Cancellation of Live Shows

Dear Friend of the Festival,

Happy New Year. We’ve been monitoring the impact of the Omicron variant over the past number of weeks, we’ve listened to the advice of our peers, our artists, our volunteers and our audience and finally we’ve taken the decision not to proceed with live shows in this year’s Out to Lunch. The risks to health are currently just too great.

We will still do a select number of shows as livestreamed events this month while many other shows are moving into our Cathedral Quarter Arts Festival timeframe.

If the worst effects of COVID-19 are behind us, we think we can safely say that CQAF 2022 will be truly epic – an Out to Lunch and a CQAF rolled into one!

It’s been a difficult few weeks but we are buoyed by thoughts of being able to enjoy a wealth of great music, comedy, theatre and film in a safer, more relaxed atmosphere later in the year.

We are in the process of contacting all ticket holders and advising them of the new show arrangements and refund information. We are continually updating our website with information as we get it (

Our thoughts go out to all our artists, our freelance team and venues like the Black Box and Sunflower who face another few months of desperate uncertainty. Thank you for your continued support for our festivals, we hope to bring you plenty of great arts experiences very soon.

Kind regards,
Cathedral Quarter Arts Festival/Out to Lunch
