Arab Arts & Culture Festival – Yallaa! Let’s Go! – 6 May

Northern Ireland’s very first Arab Arts and Culture Festival.

Yallaa is delighted to present an evening that will showcase and celebrate the best of Arab arts and culture. Hosted by The Crescent Arts Centre, the event will feature an exciting mix of traditional and contemporary dance, music, storytelling, henna and calligraphy workshops, as well as offering a chance to sample delicious Middle Eastern cuisine.

Come along to witness an unmissable performance by the Hawiyya Dabke Dance Company, and much more. Founded in 2017, this all women’s dance collective explores identity, culture and resistance through a combination of Dabke and contemporary dance.

Delicious Middle Eastern dishes will be provided on the night by the chefs from Yallaa’s Kitchen, an initiative supporting Arab refugees living in Northern Ireland through vocational training.

Yallaa is a non-profit organisation based in Northern Ireland. Yallaa means “let’s go” in Arabic and our mission is to promote Arab culture and heritage in Northern Ireland, breaking down barriers through art, music and food.

This event has been organised in conjunction with Du Dance (NI) and The Crescent Arts Centre.
