The Belfast Mela is back with a week long programme of events from the 20 – 27 August including the spectacular festival finale at Botanic Gardens on 28 August.
This year, we are inviting you to join us for our very first Mela Carnival transforming the streets of the city centre into a wonderland of colour and creativity. Welcoming over 800 participants, the parade will start at Writers Square and move through the city centre before finishing with a carnival party at City Hall.
What does it involve for my group?
- Five free arts workshops with a professional artist to produce props and costume for the parade on 20 August 2022
- A chance to learn new skills, meet new friends and be part of a celebration of our city’s cultural diversity
- Free entry to the Belfast Mela at Botanic Gardens on 28 August for all parade participants
