Disturbances – Euan Gébler – 5 May to 9 June

Cultúrlann McAdam O’Fiaich is pleased to present the first solo exhibition from Euan Gébler, ‘Disturbances’, at the Gerard Dillon Gallery. Euan was the recipient of the 2021 Cultúrlann McAdam O’Fiaich Student Graduate Award. Disturbances is an exhibition exploring the relationship between culture and landscape. Using photography and sculpture Euan explores the uncertain boundary between the natural and the man-made; how we shape the world around us and how it shapes us in return.

A key subject of the exhibition is the process of industrial quarrying. Visiting sites around Ireland Euan explores how the visual language of these unusual sites reveals not only our relationship to the earth, but to our past, and to our future. In unearthing, upheaving, and disturbing a landscape formed layer by layer over immense geologic time how do we shape our relationship to time and our place within it?
