Dumbworld Ltd are looking for a Digital Producer – closing 28 Sept

Status and Term: 36 month contract, renewable subject to financing
Reports To: Dumbworld Board
Line Management: Company Manager
Salary: £30,000 per annum
Base: The successful applicant can work from home or their own office. The applicant will be expected to travel regularly to the Dumbworld Office, The Crescent Arts Centre, 2-4 University Road, Belfast BT7 1NH.

Job Purpose:

Working alongside the Company Manager and the Artistic Directors, the Digital Producer will provide a connection between the creative and technology sectors and will be responsible for developing and delivering brilliant and innovative digital projects.

Summary of Key Duties and Responsibilities

Digital Producing

  • Work in collaboration with Dumbworld’s Artistic Directors to deliver digital projects to the quality, standard and specification demanded by each Dumbworld project.
  • Oversee the development and production of multimedia projects including Film/ VR/ AR/ moving image / video & audio editing / post-production work.
  • Research and engage creative and practical talent; overseeing the team from pre-production through to post-production.
  • Commission writers or secure rights to novels, plays or screenplays to include preparation of contracts.
  • Oversee equipment hire and purchase including projectors, camera equipment, sound equipment, IT equipment and software licencing.
  • Be responsible for the upkeep and maintenance of digital, video, and media equipment, and digital assets ensuring content stored securely and safely.

Development

  • Network / collaborate with outdoor arts, opera & digital organisations to develop new commissioning / programming / touring / distribution opportunities and partners.
  • Seek out collaboration with diverse talents including artists; scientists; academics; technologists and amateurs to share ideas and develop new projects.
  • Research existing and new markets for Dumbworld’s digital work including arts, digital & science festivals throughout UK/Ireland, Europe, America, Oceania & Asia.
  • With support from production team, distribute and follow up marketing material to promote & secure touring opportunities and maximise income.

PERSON SPECIFICATION

Essential Experience:

  • At least three years of experience of producing for Film, Television, Animation or Digital Arts.
  • A natural creative flare and genuine enthusiasm for digital production and design.
  • A demonstrable track record in successfully steering projects from start to finish, including an ability to assess complicated situations quickly and creatively identify ways forward.
  • Experience of working with co-producers and commissioning partners in the UK and internationally
  • Post-production creativity and attention to detail.
  • Strong research skills.
  • Financial literacy, including experience of putting together and effectively managing large scale project budgets
  • Willing to learn and ability to apply your knowledge and experience to match the needs of Dumbworld.
