The Seamus Heaney Centre’s Children’s Writing Fellow for 2022-23, Paul Howard, has begun his busy autumn schools tour, working with around 200 young readers and writers in schools around the north east, from Randalstown to Rathlin.
Paul has a full schedule ahead of him in the coming months, with visits planned to 25 more schools and youth centres, meeting with more than 1,000 children to help them tell their stories and instil a love of reading and writing. This includes an event at the Seamus Heaney HomePlace in Bellaghy over the Halloween break, and a new partnership with Burnavon Arts & Cultural Centre to deliver Paul’s workshops in special education schools and learning units in rural areas.
