Free art workshop with Array Collective – 4 Feb

The Gallery is a free, accessible public art project created by Artichoke. It aims to showcase artists from across the globe via billboards and digital screens throughout the UK.

Bringing free art to the masses The Gallery asks artists to create art that responds to urgent, topical themes that encourage discussion and debate.
Season one (Straight White Male) took place across July-August 2022, and season two (The state we’re in) will premiere in late January 2023.

We’ve partnered with 2021 Turner Prize winners, Array Collective, to offer a free art workshop for young people at The MAC in Belfast.

The workshop is both discussion and practical based.

Using the artworks from The Gallery, participants will have the opportunity to reflect and discuss the commissioned pieces and talk about the impact of art in the public space. Array Collective will guide participants to create their own artwork using mediums such paint, text, collage and illustration that responds to the theme of The Gallery ‘The state we’re in’.

Created artworks may then be submitted to be shown on the Artichoke website as part of the online public gallery for the project.
