Lakeland Players make their much anticipated return to the Ardhowen. After 2 years of “Oh yes it is” to “Oh no it isn’t” we are back with the EGGstravaganza that is Mother Goose. Mother Goose is the only pantomime with a Dame in the leading role; but unlike most heroines, Mother Goose is flawed! This is a moral tale, warning of the consequences of greed and envy.
The Goose family are broke and their only possession is the family pet Priscilla the Goose. Mother Goose craves wealth and is blessed with this Goose that suddenly starts to lay golden eggs. Tempted by the gift of beauty, she sacrifices her best friend, Priscilla. When she eventually realises how wrong she has been, she repents and sets off in search of Goose, being finally reconciled learning the error of her ways.
Filled with wonderful comedy scenes and all the usual traditional slapstick and audience participation, Mother Goose will be sure to get 2023 off to an EGGcellant start! Book early to avoid getting egg on your face!
