In 1502, John Blanke, an extraordinary young black musician left the ancient city of Granada and travelled to the English court. There he forged a surprising musical bond with the child who would become the infamous Henry VIII.
These two extraordinary young men are funny and full of feeling as they scramble their way to adulthood trying to understand love, politics, and what it means to be a man.
Created right here in Northern Ireland, The Trumpet and the King will draw you effortlessly into the dramatic world of the early Tudors.
