Connecting Artists 2023 – Apply Now – closing 3 Mar

Connecting Artists is a programme designed for visual artists with intellectual disabilities who wish to develop their creative practice. Here at Connections Arts Centre, we have built on the success of last year’s programme and enhanced it further, with the inclusion of a mentor for each artist as part of the 2023 programme. We had a terrific response from the creative community wishing to be involved and we have selected 10 amazing creative individuals to mentor our 2023 programme participants.

With our mentors secured – Applications are now open for our 2023 programme!! We encourage visual artists in this amazing community to apply for the chance to be a part of this year’s programme which is designed to elevate their art and prepare them for exhibiting and even selling their work. Thanks to the ongoing support of the RCSI’s Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Unit, the 2023 programme will conclude with an Exhibition in the magnificent College Hall within Royal College of Surgeons Ireland (RCSI). Closing date for applications is Friday March 3rd 3pm. Ten artists will be selected by an independent committee and the programme will commence on Thursday March 23rd.

Who can apply?

  • Any person over the age of 18 living with an intellectual disability on the island of Ireland is welcome to apply.
  • Ideally, you should already have a creative practice.
  • All applications will be considered but we can only choose 10 artists to participate.
