Artist and PS2 studio holder Emma Brennan writes…
“Dearest friend,
I’m delighted to invite you to Belfast this month for two upcoming projects.
The first is a solo exhibition at PS² … G I R L í N is a move towards an entirely new body of work, exploring the complexities of creation through the cyclical processes of gestation, birth, life and death.
This work relates to the female form within the context of Ireland, with collective, individual, contemporary, and historical lenses. More specifically, the work reflects my lived experience as a queer, Irish, female-identifying, living/breathing being.
The Bitter Milk of Memory is a small publication made in 2022, commissioned by PS² curator in residence Cecelia Graham. The publication will be on display in the PS² Project Space and available for sale throughout the run of the exhibition.
I am grateful for the support of Arts Council of Northern Ireland and University of Atypical in developing this project.”
Exhibition runs: 16 February – 11 March 2023
Reception: Thursday 16 February 2023, 6-9pm
Opening times: Tuesday – Saturday 12-5pm
