Bruiser Arts Academy July/August – starts 3, 17 July and 7 Aug

The Bruiser Arts Academy, now well into its second decade, is an essential part of any young actor’s training.  During the course, we focus on enhancing performance skills and professional development, equipping our students to perform at the best of their ability.  Serious stuff aside, it’s a lot of fun too.  You’ll work with Northern Ireland’s best directors, musicians, and dancers to create a showcase performance to show the world what you’re made of!

START Academy 12+

Dates: 3rd – 8th July 2023
Location: The MAC, Belfast

This entry level course is designed for young people who love the idea of performing, but may not have had the chance to be on stage before. This course bridges the gap, fast-tracks the audition process and is aimed at confidence building through performance.

We are accepting referrals from Drama teachers for young people aged 12-16 who would particularly benefit from participating in The START Academy 2023.
Please note that places are limited and will first be allocated to those without a background in theatre before considering other candidates.

Summer School 14+

Dates:17th – 27th July
Location: The MAC, Belfast

This course is designed to inspire and challenge young actors, providing them with the building blocks required to further pursue their acting ambitions. The Bruiser team will be joined by a range of industry professionals to coach and guide participants, holding them to a high standard of practice and providing essential experience and insight into the working world.

Participants must audition to gain entry to the Summer School, and it is on this basis of ability and experience that they are offered a place.

Graduate Academy 18+

Dates: 7th – 19th August
Location: The MAC, Belfast

The Bruiser Graduate Academy is an intensive 12-day training course for young adults with a passion for the performing arts, who are serious about their career.  You’ll get heaps of individual attention from our expert directors, musicians, and choreographers to really hone your skills.

The Graduate Academy is aimed at actors aged 18+ who are preparing for Drama School, are attending further education, have graduated or are professional actors wanting to enhance their skills.
The Graduate Academy will culminate in a showcase performance in front of a host of NI Theatre professionals – a fantastic chance to get spotted!
