SOUND – SPACE – CONNECT – 20 May

Become informed about how sound is used to support wellbeing through this experiential 1-Day event.

Tessa Ann, host and keynote speaker for this interactive and dynamic workshop style event will introduce her own work on the use of sound for wellbeing and connecting people and spaces through sound. Guest speakers and facilitators will share their ways of working with sound for supporting and developing wellbeing for individuals and communities.

During the event you will have the opportunity to:

  • Participate in interactive workshops & experiences
  • Learn about inspirational sound projects created to support communities

Explore how you can contribute to this emerging area of sound and wellbeing Subjects covered during the programme for the day:

  • How we hear sound? Sound perception: Why we hear, and experience sound the way we do and the science behind it
  • The healing power of the voice: how sound of the voice may be used to support end-of-life hospice patients and the loved ones they leave behind
  • Supporting sound sensory challenges through sound: Managing sound sensitivities and sound sensory challenges common with autism
  • Sound to heal spaces: Using sound to create wellbeing in spaces and places
  • Sound and your body: Understanding the effect of sound on your body

The day will run from 11.00 am – 5.00 pm on Saturday 20 May in the Theatre at The Braid Arts Centre Tea / Coffee on arrival – Lunch provided
