Ojibwe Stories and Music with The Sullivan Squad – 20 Mar

Listen to stories as ancient as the forests of northern Wisconsin as Michael Migizi Sullivan and his children share music from the Ojibwe and Ho-Chunk tribes of North America.

Join the Sullivan Squad as they provide a live musical performance sharing the round dance music and traditions of their homelands.

The Sullivan Squad is a family of traditional Ojibwe Anishinaabe/Ho-Chunk singers from the Lac Courte Oreilles Ojibwe reservation in Wisconsin, USA. The group consists of Michael Migizi Sullivan Sr – the lead singer of the award winning drum group Pipestone, his sons Niizhoo Sullivan, Preston Sullivan, Lennox Sullivan, and daughter Lexie Sullivan.

They enjoy singing together at round dances, ceremonies, hand drum contests, events and celebrations across Turtle Island. They have all been singing since they were little and sing regularly around the house. On the powwow trail you can find them singing with their drum groups Hay Creek and Pipestone #SKWAAD
