Step into the enchanting world of Ireland’s ancient Mummers, where masks and folklore collide in a celebration of Halloween’s spooky magic! Inspired by the rich legacy of the Armagh Rhymers—whose haunting performances with straw masks and mysterious characters date back centuries—this workshop invites you to explore the fantastical and eerie side of paper craft.
Facilitated by the brilliantly talented Susan McKeever, a paper artist who studied at Belfast School of Art and has most recently exhibited at the prestigious Royal Hibernian Academy in Dublin, you’ll learn her incredible techniques to craft whimsical figures and creatures from paper collage.
What will you create? A Mummer? A Monster? A Witch or a Cat? The choice is yours as you dive into designing your very own paper mask!
