URGENT – ArtsMatter NI meeting to discuss response to the new Programme for Government – Arts Resource Centre – 2 to 3.30pm – 4 Oct

It has been some time since ArtsMatterNI called a meeting but, as Conor Shields, Community Arts Partnership’s CEO, pointed out in a blog post recently (you can access the post at the link below), the arts sector does not feature at all in the new draft Programme for Government, that is open for consultation presently.

The draft PfG focuses on economic recovery, public health, education, and infrastructure, but has absolutely no explicit mention of direct investment or initiatives to support the Culture, Arts, and Heritage sector.

Arts Matter NI is calling an urgent meeting to discuss a collective sectoral response to this omission and what might be done to campaign for the sector’s inclusion in the economic plans of the present Executive.

The meeting will take place at:

  • The Arts Resource Centre, 7 Donegall Street Place (entry next John Hewitt bar– street view), Donegall Street, Belfast
  • starting at 2pm
  • Friday 4th October
