Visual Arts Ireland have been really bowled over with the response to this year’s Get Together, with still about 4 weeks to go until the 19th November, ticket sales have beaten all records in terms of number sold at this stage.

This really does promise to be our biggest gathering of artists yet… The final logistics of bringing Joan Jonas to speak to us as part of the day are in place, and VAI are very grateful to all of the help that IMMA have been in making this happen.

As you may know, VAI did a call out to members earlier in the year to find panel discussions that would be of interest, and the arrangements for these are now being finalised… with subjects that range from matricentric feminism, curating in the landscape, the impact of doomscrolling and understimulation, and curating artists and collections in an ethical manner. Huge subjects, and definitely ones that should bring some lively debate.

These will be accompanied by the opportunity to hear from some VAI Members about their work and motivations, sessions that are ever popular and initiate a lot of conversations.
