Ards and North Down Arts and Heritage Grants and Arts Bursaries – closing 21 and 30 Jan 2025

The Arts and Heritage Service of Ards and North Down Borough Council is pleased to announce the opening of the Arts Project Grant, the Heritage Project Grant and two Arts Bursaries for applications.

Arts Project Funding is available to arts, community and special interest groups throughout the Ards and North Down Borough area who wish to enhance existing and undertake new community arts activities. A maximum grant of £1,000 is available. The application deadline is Tuesday 21 January 2025.

The Heritage Project Grant is available to assist heritage events, projects or activities which take place in the Ards and North Down Borough. Non-profit making organisations and constituted groups that are located in or projects that are of benefit to residents within the Borough are eligible. Grants of up to £500 are available. Deadline for receipt of applications is Tuesday 21 January 2025.

Ballinglen Arts Foundation Bursary Ards and North Down Arts is offering a bursary for a two- week residency at Ballinglen Arts Foundation. The residency is aimed at visual artists and craft makers providing them the time to develop their artistic practice. Ards and North Down Arts is also offering one-week residencies to the Tyrone Guthrie Centre, Annaghmakerrig in County Monaghan to practitioners in all art forms who are currently based in the Ards and North Down Borough.

One of the available bursaries to the Tyrone Guthrie Centre will be prioritised for an artist with a disability. Ards and North Down Borough Council are committed to supporting artists with disabilities across all art genres. This bursary is launched in memory of Chris Ledger, late CEO of the University of Atypical. Application deadline for the bursaries is Thursday 30 January 2025.

Speaking about the funding and bursaries, Emily Crawford, Arts and Heritage Manager, Ards and North Down Borough Council said: “These grants are a brilliant opportunity for community groups to avail of financial support to undertake their own arts and heritage projects, if your group has an idea we would encourage you to apply. Our bursaries offer artists working in a range of mediums bursaries to support invaluable residencies to development of their artistic practice.”
