Frances O’Reilly ‘roselight’ – to 3 Feb

‘roselight’ ink, acrylic, oil on paper.

Recipient of the Tyrone Guthrie Centre Debi O’Hehir Award 2024 – Frances O’Reilly has exhibited in Ireland and internationally.

In this exhibition at Down Arts Centre, Downpatrick, the artist, Frances O’Reilly, presents a series of abstract landscapes, drawing from her observations of the natural world and the dynamic forces of nature. Working mostly in ink, charcoal, acrylic and oil – her work combines natural and geometric based forms and lines to weave a series of visual stories.

The intertwining of the natural landscape and the human spirit is a common thread in her work.

Colour is central in communicating feelings and ideas in her paintings.

These pieces could be described as evocations of time.
