“Dear friend and supporter of our works,

As you will be aware, at Belfast Exposed for over 4 decades we have been leading the way in challenging, shaping and bringing meaning to our culture and society. Through the power of photography, Belfast Exposed has captured who we were, who we are and, in turn, what we can become. It serves us to ensure an inspiring, enduring legacy for today and beyond.

At our core is our continuing focus to grow and support our communities through facilitating learning, showcasing exhibitions, whilst helping to champion the community. Through identifying meaningful and lasting partnerships and relationships, we work to create genuine, enduring value for artist progression, mental health, and the legacy of our people.

Art is at the heart of everything we do, shaping the organisations dreams and aspirations; communicating universally from grassroots to boardrooms. As we plan our future direction and a new chapter beckons towards half a century of Belfast Exposed, we want you involved from the very beginning on what and where next.

We want to invite you to participate in a consultation as we shape our future organisational strategy and direction together. As a user, supporter, funder, partner and friend of Belfast Exposed we want you to help us look to the future and think of where we can deliver more and better for the people, communities and partners we work with. Since 2019 new have delivered 450 programmes to over 300 different communities delivering to over 5,000 people and organisations and engaged with over 150,000 visitors to our exhibitions. We have undertaken the first ever all Ireland conference focusing on mental health and wellbeing in photography, attended by over 450 delegates from across the world, and are about to host the second conference exploring ‘Trauma and the Art of recovery’ on 7-8 April 2025 (visit www.belfastexposed.org/conference), we have developed unique therapeutic programmes, bespoke training, OCN qualifications and learning across our work, to help empower, engage and support the next generation as well as providing lasting support to our communities.

We are undertaking this survey from 21 February – 14 March 2025 and would value approx 5 minutes of your time to contribute. From this we plan to undertake a series of 1 hour focus groups online during March 2025, and we would love your input as we shape the next chapter together.

We look forward to hearing your thoughts. Thank you in advance for helping us create, develop and be more to those who enjoy what we do, as much as we enjoy creating with you.

As a thank you for your contribution, we will do a prize draw for a £50 Amazon voucher.

Deirdre and the team at Belfast Exposed.”
